Fishing Conditions Update

For the last month the sea has been very warm, with an average temperature of 20-22 degrees celcius.  At this point the fish have started to adapt to these high water temperatures.  Even Cob, which prefer water in the range of 17 degrees celcius, have started to feed again.

Young Cob between 2-6kg are being caught all along the coast.  Hotspots include:  Wilderness(Sandhoogte), Kanon, Boggomsbaai and Kleinkrantz.  Quite a few Musselcrackers are also being caught, with some really nice specimens taken at Beneke se Klip at Hartenbos and also towards the shipwreck at Glentana.

Elf (Shad/Blusfish) are also on the bite all along the coast, taking full advantage of the warm, clear water which they prefer to hunt in.

I went fishing last night at KleinBrak beach and got a 4kg Cob on my first cast.  After that I got 2 Elf.
